Carolyn King recently lost her Grandmother to Alzheimer's Disease and has donated a generous amount of money (to Alzheimer's Association) from her proceeds earned from selling her Flourishes stamp set. She has gotten a huge response from companies and crafters who wanted to donate stamp sets and other crafting items and handmade cards.

Here are just three companies who donated: Paper Pretties, My Favorite Things, and Stamping Bella. Two bloggers/crafters who also donated are: Jen Del Muro, and Susan Liles. Be sure and check out these gals fabulous blogs as well. Links are to the right of my blog. So, Cammie is giving away all that has been donated by having this Big Blog Candy Giveaway on her Blog! Be sure to check out Cammies blog. I was not able to link her blog in this post, but if you go to the right of my blog under my Blog List be sure to click on MY BLOG and it should link you to her blogspot. I am new to this Blogging thing and am still trying to learn. If anyone knows how to add links to these posts please send me a comment. Thanks!

Here is my card that I made in recognition of Alzheimers Day which was last Sunday, September 21st. My husband lost his mother to Alzheimers Disease two years ago. She had two wonderful and amazing caregivers and her beloved husband and son who also cared for her and were by her side everyday. My husband misses his mother dearly and contributes generously to the Alzheimer's Association. Alzheimers is a an awful disease and I hope that there will be a cure someday. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who are and have been affected by this horrible disease.

Here is the card I made and a picture of my husband and his mother.

Happy Saturday!

I just wanted to share with you the goodies I found at World Market the other day. I just love carmel apples this time of year. I have not tried the Carmel Popcorn Crunch yet, but it sure looks yummy!!!

Have a great weekend. I am off to exercise now!

PS-If you ever need a little bit of one spice that you do not have or normally use for a new or old receipe go to World Market. They have a good selection of spices in small packages. Otherwise I guess you could buy a small quanity in bulk at Central Market, Whole Foods, or Sprouts! I just love those stores, oh yeah, and Market Street too!

Today I had plans to stay in and decorate for the Fall season. After several trips up and down the stairs carrying big storage containers I finally got it all down and laid it all out on my living room floor. I attempted to hang my Fall wreath, but could not find one of many wreath holders that I have. It is somewhere amongst all the other decorations in the attic. So, I had to stop and shower and get dressed and go to Michaels to buy another one to add to my collection. Does that ever happen to any of you? Anyway, while we were out (me and my husband) we hit a few stores searching for whatever. We went to World Market, 1/2 price Books, Kohl's, Michaels, and Walmart.

I just love looking at all the Halloween stuff and bought me two of the cutest Witch hats. I am unsure what I will dress as this Halloween, but bought them anyway. I am trying to stay focused on Fall only and Halloween will come later, but I have already bought four bags of candy for my candy jars! I can't help myself!

Anyway, I love Fall and really love and enjoy Halloween. Above is a picture of my Fall decorations still on the living room floor. I will tackle the job of decorating tomorrow. Last Fall, I put Pumpkins all atop my kitchen cabinets and that was a lot of work so this year I am going to do something different.

I hope you all are enjoying the cool weather. I like it but I hate the allergies that come with it.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog!

One more post...boy, I am on a roll today!!!

Must be the weather. I have to get off this darn computer and go and watch my movies before my husband gets home! It will be almost time for me to start cooking dinner.....Yikes!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to say if you have not had the chance to go and see the musical Mama Mia at the Bass Hall please try to go. It is on through tomorrow. We had such a great time and the musical was fabulous. At the end everyone in the audience was singing and dancing to the music from ABBA!!!

I can hardly wait to see the movie. Another Girls Night Out is coming I can tell already!!!!

Happy Saturday and two posts with a few pictures!!! Yay!!! This picture was taking standing outside my patio doors on my upper balcony!! Too wet out to get any closer!

Anyway, I was saddened to wake up to the news today and see how bad Galveston got hit by Hurricane Ike. I have been going to Galveston Island since I was a little girl and have so many fond memories of being there with my Grandparents. I am glad my husband and I went again in June. I took pictures and thought I had videotaped but apparently my Flip camcorder was not on. I did not know this until after I had already left the beach!!! I hate when that happens! Anyway, I still hold a lot of memories there that will forever linger in my heart. My heart goes out to all of the people who live there and were affected by all of the damage.

I have had a busy day today and am still in my PJ's!!! And I got my chores and exercise outta the way! I have a lot of movies that I rented to watch today (that was our plan) and have not watched one yet. It is raining still and I am just not in a hurry to do much of anything but play!!!!

So, I baked up two loaves of Banana Nut Bread and my kitchen and the whole house smells so wonderful right now. Seems like I am sitting in a bakery!!! Where's the coffee?

Anyway, that is what I have been up to today!! My husband just left to go to the Gun Show in FTW. I myself just want to stay in my PJ's all day!! What's wrong with that?

I hope you are having a great day so far.

Here is a card I made for my BFF, Sara. Yesterday was her birthday. I will give this to her along with a little present when I see her real soon. Sara, I hope you are enjoying your weekend full of Birthday Fun!!! Happy Birthday to Sara's mom and my friend, Zahra!!! Today is her birthday!!!

I have to start today's post with that because of what I heard and seen last night. After my husband and I finished watching a kinda creepy movie we left the media room and went downstairs and heard something howling. My husband thought it was me at first, humming or something. (Since I am always being silly) I hollored at him to come near the fireplace and listen. I heard an owl whooing. I said, frantically, I think he is in our chimney. Before that we thought he may have been on our back patio or roof.

Anyway, we listened and then went outside towards the front/side of the house and stood in the driveway and there it was a huge big OWL sitting at the top of our chimney!!!! It was kinda cool because it was a partially full moon and the reflection of the moonlight and the owl's silouhette was just amazing. We stood there in awe as he was whooing. I whispered to my husband should I go get the camera and he said no we would spook it. By that time the owl spotted us staring at him and within seconds he flew away toward the greenbelt faster than you could blink an eye. Just think of the cool picture I could have captured had he stayed there longer and if he had not spotted us.

Anyway, I was kinda scared of it. My husband thought it was the coolest thing ever. Now, I have heard Dove before outside our home (the greenbelt is right behind our home) and I have never heard an Owl or seen one around our home. (other than at a zoo or exhibit such as the Home and Garden Show) So, I just thought it was creepy and all and especially after watching a creepy movie. Needless, to say because of the owl sighting I did not stay up late last night in my craft/computer room so I had my husband walk back upstairs with me to get my laptop and then I went to bed! I am a scaredy cat!!! Anyway, this just reminded me of the bat we saw in July while we were playing with fireworks one night and he flew by us outta nowhere. Yes, I was scared then also!! I am afraid of frogs and insects and bugs and anything that moves. Yes, it includes cats and dogs!!! I cannot help myself I am petrified and mortified!!!!

A rainy day in Keller, TX

Good Morning!

I am feeling under the weather today. I think mostly fighting allergies (I hate this time of year) and felt sick all last evening and through out the night. I cannot be sick today or at all! I have my Pokeno game tonight! Then on Thursday evening we are all going (the ladies I play Pokeno with) to the Bass Hall to see Mama Mia!! Not one, but two "girls night out"!!! I am excited about that and hope that I am well by then!

I just wanted to share these two pictures with you. I am happy to see Rain today and am still enjoying my morning coffee. I hope to have a couple of cards posted this week. Since we returned from vacation I have been a busy bee. BTW....have any of you who live here locally been to the Michaels in Hurst? OMG! They remodeled and it looks great! They have more of a "better" selection of scrapbook supplies. It almost reminded me of walking those aisles at Recollections back in the day! I went there yesterday after my Acupunture treatment (I have Bursitis in my right leg) and I spent like an hour or more just looking at everthing! I did some video but downloaded it and watched it and I just did it too fast it will make you dizzy if I show it to you. Maybe later today I will go back and video tape again! I bought some more Scrapbook supplies to add to my collection of new and unused scrapbook supplies. My craft room is a Michaels!!! LOL!

Have a great day!
